Minnesota depth-chart receiver still waiting for his breakout
Ben Holcomb is a Minnesota wideout whose value comes more from development and versatility than a loud stat line, with the most reliable public info showing a redshirt freshman profile and a switch from defensive back to receiver before spring practice. That tells you he’s a project with athletic range, but not yet a proven production piece in the 2026 season. If you’re looking for a polished, ready-now playmaker, the résumé is still thin; if you want a coachable, adaptable receiver with room to grow, Holcomb is exactly the kind of low-drama upside swing that can pay off later.
