Gerrell Green brings proven ball skills and veteran DB instincts to McNeese
Gerrell Green looks like a useful defensive back addition because he has shown playmaking upside before, including 13 tackles and an interception return that set up points for North Alabama in 2021. His value is less about raw stat volume and more about feel: he has experience, good eyes in coverage, and the kind of momentum-changing instincts coaches want in the secondary. If McNeese wants a DB who can compete for the ball and contribute as a steady, situational defender, Green fits that profile well.
