UAPB's Towering Freshman Guard with Untapped Potential
At 6-6, Gavin Montgomery stands out as a rare lengthy guard for UAPB's Golden Lions, blending size with freshman promise from Fayetteville, GA—averaging 5.2 PTS, 2.5 REB, and 0.6 AST at 42.4% FG in his early college stats per ESPN. His frame suggests elite defensive upside and slashing ability, making him a differentiator in SWAC matchups where physicality reigns; reliable sources highlight his high school pedigree, positioning him as a developmental gem for teams seeking versatile wings with rebounding intensity over pure shooters.
