Jude Akabueze brings old-school glass-cleaning and rim protection to UAB
Akabueze is a 6-foot-8, 260-pound forward whose calling card has long been physicality, rebounding, and shot-blocking; in his high-school senior season, he averaged 18.5 points, 16.0 rebounds, and 4.5 blocks per game, which screams interior presence and motor. His UAB profile also shows he arrived as a legit frontcourt body, and scouting notes describe him as a big who could impact both ends with size and activity. If your team needs toughness, paint control, and a player who doesn’t mind the dirty work, he’s the kind of fit that can quietly tilt possessions.
