South Carolina State DB with a playoff-style tackling profile
Deario Grimmage’s most verifiable college stat line comes from South Carolina State’s 1999 season, when he posted 10 tackles against Florida A&M, including 7 solo stops, showing an active, physical, assignment-sound defender rather than a flashy ballhawk. That profile fits a DB who likely wins with reliability, downhill willingness, and steady contact balance more than headline-grabbing picks. Because current 2026 performance data and recent scouting notes were not available in the gathered sources, the cleanest takeaway is that he is a name to watch for toughness, tackling consistency, and fit in a defense that values trust over theatrics.
