Deonte Welch’s USF profile: proven Bull with a compact, chain-moving receiver skill set
Deonte Welch has been a productive South Florida receiver, with 80 career catches for 1,008 yards and 1 touchdown in his Bulls career, and his value has come from reliability more than flash. In 2014, he started seven games and finished with 23 receptions for 269 yards, showing he could handle a real role in the offense. At 6-foot-0 and 215 pounds, he brought a sturdier frame than a typical slot target, which helped him win tough grabs and give USF a physical option underneath. If you want a dependable, hard-nosed possession receiver, Welch fits the bill.
