Tommy Hopp brings veteran grit and Swiss-Army utility to SDSU’s backfield
Tommy Hopp is a 6-foot-2, 225-pound fullback who arrived at South Dakota State as a converted linebacker, and that physical, do-everything background shows up in his value: tough special-teams work, positional flexibility, and a blue-collar edge. In the 2016 season, he played in 10 games and even earned SDSU’s Special Teams Player of the Week nod; by the 2017 season, he had settled into the fullback role after flashing as a defender. If a team wants a low-drama, high-effort tone-setter with proven football IQ and toughness, Hopp is the kind of glue guy coaches love.
