Owen Payne brings strike-throwing experience and steady utility as Bellarmine’s right-handed arm
Payne is a depth piece with a reliable competitive profile: Bellarmine lists him as a right-handed pitcher who logged six appearances and 6.2 innings in 2023, including two scoreless outings, after a junior-college path at Lincoln Trail College. He also carried a strong two-way prep résumé at Daviess County, where he was his team’s OPS leader (1.177) and earned all-district honors, suggesting athleticism and feel beyond the mound. The fit is best for teams valuing poise, versatility, and a low-drama, team-first contributor over pure velocity upside.
