Dayton Flyers' Academic Standout Safety with Leadership Pedigree
Austin Newland, a 6'0" senior safety for the Dayton Flyers, earned NFF Hampshire Honor Society recognition for his academic excellence alongside football in 2021, showcasing discipline rare in high-contact positions[4]. A two-sport captain from state champion Carmel High (IN), he was named defensive back of the year, bringing proven leadership and intensity despite limited college snaps (one game in 2019)[5][2]. Care about him for his smarts and grit—ideal fit for teams valuing versatile, high-character DBs who study film like pros.
