Kye Schlichting brings length, versatility, and legit upside to NDSU’s receiver room
Schlichting is a 6-foot-3, 201-pound freshman wideout for North Dakota State who arrives with real multi-sport athletic juice and a strong North Dakota pedigree. In high school, he was a three-year starter, team captain, and senior-year all-conference/all-state selection after posting 872 rushing yards, 268 receiving yards, and 12 total touchdowns in the 2026 prep season, plus a long-jump school record and conference title. The appeal: size, speed potential, and position flexibility. The catch: he’s still a blank slate at the college level, so he looks more like a development bet than an instant stats machine.
