Tennessee’s steady, walk-on long snapper with a no-drama profile
Alton Stephens is a redshirt senior long snapper for Tennessee in the 2026 season, listed at 5-11, 200 pounds, and noted by the Vols as a walk-on who came to Knoxville after stops at Texas State and Georgia Military College.[2] His value is the classic specialist edge: consistency, reliability, and roster flexibility rather than box-score flash, with earlier college experience that suggests he can handle live snaps under game pressure.[2][13] There are no recent game stats or headline-grabbing rankings here, but for a team needing a trusted snapping option, his veteran background and low-maintenance profile are exactly the kind of sneaky-good fit coaches love.[1][2]
