Former 4-star wing with size, but production lagged at Iowa State
Blackwell arrived at Iowa State as a former four-star recruit and a 6-6 forward with versatility and Power 5 pedigree, but his on-court production in the 2020-21 season was limited, with 1.6 points per game in 11 appearances and modest shooting efficiency. His value is more about developmental upside, size, and the kind of athletic wing profile that can still matter if refined; the concern is that he has yet to translate recruiting buzz into consistent impact, and he ultimately entered the transfer portal after the season.
