Waldie Perez brings power-contact upside and catching value to Cal State Fullerton
Perez is a senior catcher who gives Cal State Fullerton a sturdy, right-handed bat with legitimate contact power traits and veteran experience behind the plate. In 2024 he appeared in 38 games with 34 starts, and in 2025 he still logged 24 games and 14 starts, showing he remains in the mix for meaningful innings. His public profile also points to standout exit-velocity and on-base signals from his junior-college track, which suggests more offensive ceiling than his college batting lines alone reveal. He looks like a fit for teams wanting a physical, experienced catcher with upside if the hit tool keeps trending.
