veteran Richmond linebacker with championship pedigree and steady disruptive instincts
In the 2001 season, Walter Blue was a durable, productive senior linebacker for Richmond, appearing in all 11 games with one start and posting 26 tackles, five tackles for loss, two quarterback hurries, and a pass breakup. He stood out less as a stat-padding star and more as a reliable inside presence who could make plays behind the line and fit into a winning defense—Richmond’s 1998 and 2000 Atlantic 10 title teams. If you want a smart, tough, plug-and-play linebacker with experience in a proven program, Blue checked that box.
