Zaydrius Rainey-Sale is a fast-rising, versatile UW linebacker with starting upside
In the 2025 season, Zaydrius Rainey-Sale flashed in limited action with 21 tackles, a sack, an interception, and two pass breakups, then entered 2026 as a bigger, more versatile second-year linebacker for Washington. He stands out for rare speed at 6-foot-2 and about 240 pounds, plus the ability to play inside, outside, and even nickel responsibilities—one coach called him one of the fastest linebackers in the country. A former 4-star recruit, he overcame a high-school knee injury and still drew major Power Four interest, so the appeal is clear: twitchy, physical, and scheme-flexible with real long-term starter juice.
