Ivy League Guard Who Transformed into a D3 All-American at NYU
Spencer Freedman is a 6'0" guard whose career defies expectations: after limited impact at Harvard (2.8 PPG, 1.2 APG in 2021-22), he relocated to NYU and exploded as a graduate student, scoring 35 points in a single game and averaging 18.4 PPG with 5.8 APG in 2023-24 to earn NABC Third Team All-America and D3hoops First Team All-Region 4 honors. His differentiators include elite scoring intensity, clutch shooting (14-of-23 FG in his 35-point game), and leadership that propelled NYU to a 30-year UAA title. While his Harvard stats don’t reflect star status, his NYU transformation proves he thrives with high-stakes responsibility, resilience, and a scorer’s mentality—making him a compelling fit for teams needing a battle-tested, high-intensity guard who elevates when it matters most.
