James Hawkins Jr. brings versatile defensive back potential to Chattanooga
James Hawkins Jr. is a Chattanooga DB whose value comes from the classic defensive-back traits coaches covet: coverage flexibility, open-field tackling, and the ability to fit into multiple sub-packages. Publicly available recruiting/roster sources provide limited verified stat detail for his current college production, so the best read is that he profiles as a depth-to-impact defender whose fit will hinge on how quickly he translates athleticism, physicality, and assignment discipline into consistent game reps. If you want a DB who can compete for special teams and rotational snaps, he’s the kind of player worth tracking.
