Ireland-to-Troy specialist with big-time kickoff juice
Chase Cross is a developmental kicker with a rare backstory and real kickoff value: Troy’s roster bio says he first kicked an American football in April 2024, and in the 2024 season he ranked 14th nationally among kickers with at least 60 kickoff attempts, averaging 68.4 yards per kickoff with 39 touchbacks in 61 tries. That kind of leg strength makes him a clean fit for teams that want field-position chaos and a high-upside, low-drama specialist. The main question is experience, not talent—he’s still relatively new to the sport, which means the ceiling is intriguing and the floor is “needs reps, ASAP.”
