Lefty Bat, Big Power Upside, and a Comeback Story at Baylor
John Youens is a 2026 Baylor first baseman whose profile screams upside: a 6-foot-3, left-handed hitter who posted a .158 average in limited 2025 action after missing 2024 with injury, but arrived with a monster high-school resume that included a .473 career average, 19 home runs, and a .714 OBP. The key reason to care is the blend of patience, power, and athletic history from a multi-sport Waco product—if the bat fully translates, he’s the kind of low-drama, high-upside fit every lineup wants.
