NIU’s throwback middle linebacker with production, edge, and leadership
In the 2011 season, Pat Schiller was the heartbeat of Northern Illinois’ defense, finishing with a career-high 115 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, and 2 sacks, while earning second-team All-MAC recognition and NIU Linebacker of the Year honors. He wasn’t just a tackle collector; he was a tough, instinctive, high-motor middle linebacker who teammates and coaches leaned on as a defensive leader. A college fit for teams wanting a smart, physical, downhill LB, Schiller also overcame a torn ACL in 2010 and came back to anchor the Huskies’ defense.
