Dayton’s old-school captain who set the tone at linebacker
Brian Kelly’s Dayton profile shows a classic linebacker résumé: captain, three-year starter, and a major leadership piece for a defense that helped Dayton finish second in FCS rushing defense in 2007. Reliable coverage from the Flyers also describes him as an Academic All-PFL standout and a two-time academic All-District pick, which says plenty about his discipline and football IQ. He looks like the kind of tone-setting, high-effort defender coaches trust immediately—smart, durable, and built for structure-heavy systems. If a team wants a relentless communicator with leadership baked in, Kelly is a very clean fit.
