Gary Wright brings veteran special-teams toughness to Hawai‘i’s defensive backfield
Gary Wright Jr. is a former Hawai‘i defensive back whose value has always been less about flashy stat lines and more about reliability, effort, and special-teams grit. In the 2002 season, he played in 12 games and recorded 13 tackles, including nine solo stops, while earning the Scout Award on special teams[1]. At 5-9, he profiles as a competitive, assignment-sound DB who can help in coverage depth and coverage units rather than as a pure headline-maker[1].
