Cory Smigel gives Akron a steady, low-drama leg with clutch range and strong PAT reliability
Smigel has been a dependable scoring source for Akron, going 29-for-30 on extra points and 7-for-11 on field goals in the cited season while leading the team in scoring with 50 points. His profile is more about reliability than flash: he has shown enough range to convert from 36, 31, and 39 yards in key moments, and he has already handled high-leverage kicks in tight games. For a team, he projects as a calm, game-ready kicker whose value is consistency and composure under pressure rather than elite boom distance.
