From Comeback Warrior to Coaching Impact at UNC
Buckland's college career exemplified resilience—she returned from knee surgery to appear in 35 games during the 2012-13 season, averaging 5.7 points as UNC's primary bench scorer and ranking 11th in ACC scoring off the bench. Her journey from multi-sport high school standout (12.6 PPG, 7.0 RPG at Bishop McGuinness) to overcoming significant injury demonstrates mental toughness and adaptability. Now coaching at Presbyterian as an assistant, Buckland brings firsthand knowledge of perseverance and player development—ideal for programs valuing character-driven recruitment and mentorship.
