Dean Helt brings veteran, academically polished trench value for Illinois State
Dean Helt is a veteran Illinois State offensive lineman whose profile is built on reliability, physical development, and consistency rather than flash. In 2017, he played in eight games with seven starts at center, earned MVFC Offensive Lineman of the Week, and helped power a Redbirds rushing attack that hit 331 yards against South Dakota while supporting James Robinson’s productive season. He’s the kind of grown-man, tone-setting OL who can stabilize a line and fits a team that values toughness, accountability, and depth.
