versatile, disruptive defender with proven playmaking instincts
Aaron Smith is a reliable, instinctive defensive back who has shown steady production and versatility, including 14 tackles and 2 pass breakups in 11 games with three starts in 2023 after overcoming a preseason medical issue, plus a redshirt season in 2024 that preserved eligibility and health. His differentiators are his ball skills, pursuit range, and willingness to contribute on special teams, which make him a useful fit for a defense that values intelligence, toughness, and multi-role depth rather than just raw measurables.
