Cal Poly WR Kevin Van Gorder: Modest Stats, Family Legacy in Spotlight
Kevin Van Gorder, wide receiver for the Cal Poly Mustangs, posted 1 reception for 11 yards and 0 TDs in his tracked ESPN stats, showcasing limited production as a developing pass-catcher on a mid-major program. Son of legendary NFL/college DC Brian VanGorder—who engineered top defenses like 8th in passing efficiency at Western Illinois (2024)—Kevin brings elite football IQ and work ethic from a coaching dynasty, ideal for teams seeking high-upside developmental talent with proven pedigree over raw stats.
