steady EIU safety with a defensive coach’s-eye résumé
Corey Lewis looks like the kind of safety coaches trust: a physical, assignment-sound defender whose value is often bigger than the box score. The catch is that the available public data is thin on current, detailed 2026 production, so the best read is that he fits as a reliable, tough-minded piece in Eastern Illinois’ defensive backfield rather than a flashy stat-stuffer. If your team wants a disciplined communicator who can help stabilize the back end and bring some attitude to the secondary, Lewis is the sort of fit worth a closer look.
