FAU’s record-book cannon with big-play arm talent
Rusty Smith was one of Florida Atlantic’s all-time passing engines, finishing with 10,112 career passing yards and 76 passing touchdowns, both program records, and he still stands out for the kind of vertical arm strength and volume production that can change a game fast.[11] In 2007, he broke out with 3,688 passing yards and 32 touchdowns, a huge signal that he could carry an offense; his college career also included a shoulder injury in 2009, so durability was part of the conversation.
