Glue-guy Jayhawk who brought energy, rim protection, and veteran grit
In his final Kansas season in 2021-22, Mitch Lightfoot was the ultimate do-the-little-things forward: 4.6 points and 2.9 rebounds in 30 games, while his high-effort defense and shot-blocking kept him in Bill Self’s trust circle. He finished his Kansas career as the school’s all-time leader in games played and was praised for constantly playing hard, which matters because his value went beyond box scores—he gave KU toughness, energy, and reliable rotation minutes.
