SIU Salukis DB with Elite Tackling Pedigree from 2000
LaVar Stepter, a junior DB for the Southern Illinois Salukis, led the team with 8.0 tackles for loss in the 2000 season, showcasing lockdown coverage and disruptive run defense that set him apart as a stat leader from Proviso West High School. His high-motor intensity and ball-hawking instincts make him a reliable fit for FCS defenses needing versatile back-end playmakers—perfect for teams seeking proven tacklers without injury red flags, though limited recent data keeps him under-the-radar.
