David Blount is an intriguing young Samford linebacker with room to pop
David Blount is listed as a freshman linebacker for Samford, and the clearest current signal is opportunity: he has already appeared in 7 games, which is a useful early snapshot for a young defender adjusting to the FCS level. At 6-foot-0 and 196 pounds, he brings a compact frame that fits an active, downhill LB role, but there isn’t enough public stat-tracking to label him a volume producer yet. The upside play is simple: if he keeps earning snaps, his athletic ceiling and development runway make him a worthwhile watch for teams needing a high-motor, moldable linebacker.
