Boston College’s go-to late-inning righty with swing-and-miss bite
In the 2026 season, Gavin Soares emerged as one of Boston College’s most trusted bullpen arms, showing a heavy workload, a sharp strikeout rate, and enough poise to handle high-leverage spots. He’s been recognized as a top ACC reliever and top-20 national reliever entering 2026, which fits the eye test: power arm, competitive edge, and the confidence to finish games. The knock? He can be hit at times and isn’t a pure shutdown machine every outing, but his toughness, experience, and late-game mentality make him a strong fit for teams needing a battle-tested RHP.
