Silas Cowgill brings veteran relief depth and strike-throwing polish to UCA
In the 2026 season, Central Arkansas right-hander Silas Cowgill logged 39.2 innings with 25 strikeouts, 16 walks, and a 4-0 record, showing real trustworthiness in relief and enough versatility to also make a start[10][1]. His calling card is competitive, high-usage consistency: he was used in 20 games, worked multiple innings at times, and delivered a season-high 5 innings against Bellarmine[10]. The downside is contact management, since opponents hit .283 against him in 2026 and he allowed 48 hits and 6 homers, but the profile still fits a team needing a durable, experienced righty who can eat innings and keep games organized[1][10].
