Alcorn State's Resilient Forward with Elite Shot-Blocking Instincts
Michael Martin, a 6-8 Forward for the Alcorn State Braves, stands out not for his modest 1.2 PPG and 1.8 RPG in the 2025-26 season, but for his relentless defensive intensity and elite shot-blocking instincts—finishing his career ranked 9th in blocked shots per game (1.0) and 17th overall (46 total). Though his scoring is limited, Martin’s differentiator is his unwavering hustle, high-rebound positioning (8 rebounds in a key 2025 win vs. B-CU), and a personality defined by grit and team-first mentality. He has no significant injury history and plays with a fire that elevates the entire defense. For a team needing a reliable, high-intensity forward who can protect the rim and crash the boards without demanding offensive spotlight, Martin is an ideal fit—especially in a system that values defensive discipline over flash.
