veteran SMU safety with academic polish and trusted depth
Michael Salerno is a seasoned SMU safety whose value comes from experience, consistency, and reliability more than flashy box-score numbers. In the 2019 season, he logged 4 total tackles, and SMU’s roster history shows he was a multi-year contributor who earned academic honors while developing from a walk-on into scholarship depth. That background makes him the kind of player coaches like: disciplined, tough, and trustworthy in the secondary. If your team needs a steady, intelligent defensive back with strong buy-in and leadership traits, Salerno fits the bill.
