a steady NIU field-flipper with pro-level punting traits
Jake Ambrose was a reliable Northern Illinois punter whose career numbers show real value: in the 2015-16 seasons, he averaged 38.5 yards on 144 punts, and NIU listed him with 5,543 career punting yards, 144 punts, and a 38.5 average, while also noting he ranked seventh in career punting average and tenth in punts and total yardage. He stood out for consistency and placement, with a career-long 78-yard punt and strong inside-the-20 production highlighted by his training background and a season of injuries he had to overcome.
