Jon McCall brings proven big-play juice from McNeese to Louisiana
McCall’s appeal is **efficiency and explosiveness**: in the 2023 season at McNeese State, he caught 32 passes for 504 yards and 5 touchdowns, following a 2022 season with 204 yards and a score, which shows legitimate growth as a downfield target. Listed at 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, he profiles as a physical outside receiver who can win contested catches and create chunk plays; in 2026 HBCU Legacy Bowl footage, he was also shown making a high-point grab over coverage, reinforcing that ball-winning trait. The main question for Louisiana is role fit, not talent: he needs targets to matter, but his production suggests a useful fit for a team that wants vertical stress and reliable red-zone upside.[1][2][3][10][13][15]
