Maurice Brown II is South Carolina’s high-effort TE2 with special-teams juice and real toughness
Brown is a former walk-on who has carved out a valuable role for South Carolina through reliability, toughness, and special-teams impact rather than gaudy receiving numbers. In 2025, he appeared in all 12 games and caught 2 passes for 24 yards, while the program has highlighted him as a special-teams contributor and spring offense toughness award winner; he also returned for 2026. His differentiators are his speed for the position, physicality, and coach-trusted, blue-collar profile—more “glue guy” than featured target, but exactly the kind of depth piece teams want.
