Depth receiver with recruiting pedigree, still waiting for a breakout
Carroll arrived at SMU as a three-star wideout and former Texas top-150-ish receiver prospect with multi-sport athleticism and all-state recognition at Hirschi High, but his college production has been limited so far, with only a handful of appearances and one recorded catch for seven yards in the roster bio. His appeal is less about the box score right now and more about upside: a versatile athlete with speed, pedigree, and room to develop into a bigger role if he sharpens his route consistency and earns more targets. That makes him a reasonable developmental fit, not an instant-impact one.[1][3]
