Kent State DB Heskin Smith brings a versatile background to the secondary
Heskin Smith is listed as a defensive back for Kent State, but his high school production shows a two-way playmaker with real ball skills and finishing ability: he caught 44 passes for 399 yards and 2 touchdowns and also rushed 29 times for 149 yards and 3 scores, suggesting athletic versatility that can translate into impact on special teams or in multiple DB roles.[2] Kent State’s 2024 team went 0-12, so any evaluation should be team-context aware, but Smith’s value lies in adaptability, competitiveness, and an offensive-minded feel that can help a defense create explosive moments.[1][2]
