Athletic LSU tackle whose best asset was power-speed upside — but injuries changed the arc
Jerald Hawkins was a three-year starter at LSU from 2013 to 2015, starting 37 games and earning a reputation as an extremely athletic offensive lineman with the size/speed profile teams love in a tackle. In the 2015 season, his blocking helped LSU average 256.8 rushing yards per game, the SEC’s best mark, but his college and pro path were interrupted by multiple injuries, including an ankle issue in 2015 and later shoulder and quad setbacks. If you want a swing tackle with real upside, Hawkins had the traits; if you need durability, the injury history is the red flag.
