Ricky Torres brings veteran guard savvy and steady playmaking to Illinois State
Ricky Torres is a seasoned, pass-first guard for Illinois State whose best calling card is orchestration: in the 2017-18 season at Monroe College he averaged 17.2 points, 4.7 rebounds and 8.1 assists, earning NJCAA first-team All-American honors. At Illinois State, ESPN lists him at 3.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game, underscoring a role built around distribution, poise and connective play rather than heavy shot volume. If you want a composed floor general who can organize an offense and keep teammates involved, Torres fits that mold.
