Depth Guard with Duke Roots
Metelus was a Duke offensive guard depth piece and walk-on reserve, so his value was more about reliability, preparation, and absorbing the program’s culture than box-score production. Duke lists him as a 2013 roster guard who did not see game action in 2012 and served as a reserve in 2013, which suggests he was a developmental option rather than an impact starter. If you need a low-drama, team-first lineman with blue-collar traits and roster flexibility, he fits that profile; if you need an immediate high-end starter, his public college résumé does not show that level of output.
