Veteran Eastern Illinois safety Vince Speller brings experience and steady back-end toughness
Vince Speller is a seasoned Eastern Illinois safety who has been around long enough to know the details matter, and his college résumé points to reliability more than flash. In 2016, he logged 23 tackles for the Panthers, and earlier roster notes show him as a versatile, physical defender with a strong special-teams background and a long developmental arc at EIU. That kind of experience is gold if you want a smart, assignment-sound defensive back who can stabilize a unit, communicate well, and play with mature edge. He looks like a fit for a team valuing toughness, consistency, and football IQ over highlight-reel hype.
