Freshman RHP Jackson Evans is already flashing swing-and-miss upside for Liberty
In the 2026 season, Liberty freshman right-hander Jackson Evans has shown real bat-missing ability and starter/relief flexibility, with 30 strikeouts in 21.0 innings and a 4-0 record despite a 7.29 ERA.[3][9][12] At 6-3, 200, he brings a live arm, size, and poise—plus proof he can handle pressure, like his 5 1/3-inning relief gem against Duke when he allowed one run, struck out five, and didn’t walk a batter.[4] The fit question is simple: if you want upside and strikeout juice in a young arm, he’s intriguing; if you need immediate polish and consistency, he’s still a work in progress.[1][4][12]
