Max Hermes brings veteran toughness and bonus-point upside to Rutgers

Hermes is a battle-tested Rutgers wrestler who has already shown he can score in bunches, with 34 career wins for the Scarlet Knights and eight major decisions, three tech falls, and four pins in that span. In 2025-26 he opened with a pin and has mixed in bonus-point ability again, while his college profile also shows he’s a consistent grinder in Big Ten-level competition. The bigger selling point is his résumé: a three-time Ohio state champion with a 223-12 prep record and a reputation for being all business, making him a dependable, high-intensity fit for a lineup that values toughness and discipline.
