Southern Illinois RB Patrick Whalen is a depth-chart name to watch, but public stat trail is thin
Patrick Whalen appears on Southern Illinois’ football radar as a running back, but publicly available stat pages don’t surface meaningful 2026 production yet, so this is more of a watch-list profile than a proven stat-stuffer. The big question is whether he can carve out carries in a Salukis offense that already leans on established backs, which means his value right now is more about opportunity, reliability, and special-teams usefulness than headline numbers. If your team needs a young back with a chance to grow into a role, he’s worth monitoring; if you need instant impact, the public data doesn’t yet show that case.
