Ervin Youmans brings pesky defense and scoring pop, but his UTEP window was brief
In the 2004-05 season, Ervin Youmans was a 5-11 guard who flashed real two-way punch at Hobbs High—28 points, 5 assists, and 5 steals per game as a senior—before appearing in limited action for UTEP, where he scored 6 points with 3 assists in 17 minutes. His appeal is speed, pressure, and playmaking for a smaller lead guard, plus a high-motor reputation from his prep days. The catch: his college footprint at UTEP was tiny, and he later left the program, so he reads more like a brief, intriguing guard prospect than a proven fit.
