Hampton Pirates RB with Workhorse Volume but Efficiency Struggles
Dennis Mathis, Hampton Pirates running back, posted 148 carries for 550 yards and 1 TD (3.7 YPC) in the 2010 season, showcasing his durability as a high-volume back from Hampton, VA, who grinded through 148 touches despite modest efficiency. His strength lies in relentless effort and local grit, making him a reliable chain-mover in Hampton's run-heavy scheme, though low TD output and average speed highlight exploitable weaknesses. Ideal fit for teams needing a tough, no-frills RB3 with FCS hustle—no major injury flags, but ceiling limited without burst improvement.
